Leading with Faith and Purpose
The people who carry the day-to-day work of this church — who they are, how the decisions get made, and how to reach any of them without going through a form.
A lead pastor, three associate pastors and a lay board of nine elected by the congregation for three-year terms. Every name, role and term is listed on the team page, and the board minutes are posted in the foyer the week after each meeting.
Any of the pastors will meet you for coffee — email the office and we will find a time within the fortnight. If you would rather write, the elders read everything sent to the board address and answer within two weeks.
Three, in this order: tell the truth, keep your promises, and stay where you are needed longer than is comfortable. They are pinned to the wall of the meeting room because they are easier to state than to keep.

Sanctuary Reflections

We moved here for work and knew no one. Someone noticed us standing alone after the second service and asked us to lunch — that was four years ago, and we have not missed a Sunday since. This is the first church where I did not have to work to be known.
The care team sat with my father in the hospital for three nights running so that my mother could sleep. Nobody asked them to and nobody made a thing of it afterwards. That is what I tell people when they ask what this church is like.
I came in angry and stayed angry for about a year, and no one tried to talk me out of it. They just kept setting a place. Somewhere in the second year I noticed the anger had gone quiet and something else had taken its place.
My daughter learned to read in the Wednesday club here, and she learned to pray in the same room. Eight years on she is the one leading it. I did not expect a church to change the shape of our family, but it has.
