Family Fun Day

The biggest day in the church’s year for anyone under about twelve, and the one the volunteers plan for from February.

What is on

Three inflatables, a climbing wall, face painting, a bake stall, the fire service with an engine you are allowed to sit in, and a tug of war at half past five that has become disproportionately serious.

The quiet room is open all afternoon on the ground floor for anyone who needs it — dim lights, no music, ear defenders available at the door.

Timings

  • 2:00 PM — gates open, everything running
  • 3:30 PM — the fire engine arrives
  • 5:30 PM — tug of war
  • 6:15 PM — prize draw
  • 7:00 PM — finish

Volunteering

We need about seventy people across the day and we are always short on the two-hour setup at midday and the takedown after seven. An hour of your time is genuinely useful; sign up at the welcome desk.

Everything is free. There is no entry charge, no wristband, and nothing on the day costs money. If someone asks you for a card, they are not with us.
