About a third of everything given here leaves the building: forty meals every Wednesday since 2011, a bed on Tuesday nights through the winter, a repair fund that pays a boiler bill the same day it is asked about, and three partnerships abroad that are all older than a decade. The rest keeps the lights on, the counseling free and the children's rooms staffed.

The annual accounts are published every March and there is a printed copy in the foyer. Ask any of the elders what a number means and they will tell you.
