Youth & Children

Led by Kristin Watson. Sundays 10:45 AM · Fridays 7:00 PM

Around a hundred and forty children and teenagers pass through the building in a normal week. Everything below is run by people who have been checked, trained and are never alone in a room.

Sundays

  • Crèche for under-threes, in the room off the foyer, staffed from the start of the service.
  • Explorers, ages three to six. Story, craft, and a lot of moving about.
  • Voyagers, ages seven to eleven. The same passage the adults are hearing, at their pace.

Children join the first fifteen minutes of the service with their families and leave together after the second song.

Fridays

Youth night runs 7:00 to 9:30 for school years seven through thirteen, in two halves — younger downstairs, older in the loft. Games, food, and half an hour of something more serious. It is loud and it is well supervised.

Summer

A week away every August for years eight and up. Sixty places, subsidized so that cost is never the reason a family says no. Ask Kristin about the hardship fund; it exists and it is used.

Safeguarding policy, training records and the name of our designated lead are on the notice board by the office and available on request. Ask. We would rather you did.

Volunteering

We are always short on Sundays. Training is two evenings, checks take about three weeks, and you will never be put in a room on your own.
