Adult Ministries
Led by Kathryn Murphy. Groups meet weekly · times vary
Sunday is the smallest part of belonging here. Most of what holds people is a group of eight to twelve in someone’s front room on a weeknight.
Small groups
Twenty-three of them, spread across the neighborhood, meeting weekly or fortnightly. Each takes the same passage the church is working through, so the whole congregation is reading in step without anyone being made to.
A group is deliberately capped at twelve. When it passes that it splits, which is difficult every single time and has never once been the wrong call.
Regular gatherings
- Men’s breakfast, first Saturday, 8:00 AM. Eggs, then forty minutes on one question.
- Women’s study, Wednesday mornings in term time, with childcare.
- Thursday morning group, for anyone retired or at home during the day. Coffee at ten, finished by noon, and a lift can be arranged.
- Marriage course, twice yearly, seven evenings, open to anyone including people not from the church.
If you have been coming for a while and still do not know anyone’s name, this is the thing to fix, and it is entirely fixable in one evening.
Finding a group
Tell any of the pastors roughly where you live and which night works. Kathryn keeps the map and will put you in touch with a host directly rather than adding you to a list.
